|Building Couple Skills... Providing Hope

Safety before everything else

Anger and Domestic Violence

Anger can become a pattern of fear, control, and distance. Counseling begins with clarity, accountability, and a plan that protects the person who needs protection.

A steady, confidential place to begin

Safety is not a side issue in relationship counseling. It is the foundation.

What we can work through

A clearer way forward.

  • Recognizing escalation before it becomes harm
  • Separating accountability from blame
  • Creating a practical safety plan
  • Learning regulation and interruption skills
  • Naming coercive patterns clearly
  • Determining whether conjoint work is appropriate

John's approach

There is no honest relationship work without safety. The first task is to stop harm and establish conditions where truth can be spoken freely.

If there is current violence, intimidation, or fear, contact emergency services or a domestic violence resource before scheduling couples counseling. Conjoint therapy is not appropriate in every situation.

You do not have to figure this out alone.

Start with a confidential conversation about what is happening and what you hope can change.
